Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics (Maternity Cover until 22/08/2027)

The Division of Nutrition and Allied Health is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual to the role of Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the profession and to inspire the future dietetic workforce within our expanding Dietetics provision.

As one of the largest providers of nutrition programmes in the UK, the Division has delivered dietetic education and training for the Northwest region since 2002. We are highly regarded within the Northwest for our provision of Nutrition and Food Science courses and have a strong reputation for excellence.

We are looking for an HCPC‑registered dietitian with experience in teaching, learning, and assessment, either within Higher Education or through work as a Clinical Educator and a genuine passion for developing future practitioners. You will bring insight into, and enthusiasm for, a career as a clinical academic, with the motivation to further develop your academic skills.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, learning, and assessment across both the BSc and MSc Nutrition and Dietetics programmes. There may also be opportunities to support teaching on other postgraduate programmes within the Division, including Lifestyle Medicine, Nutrition, Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation, and Public Health Nutrition.

Applicants must hold a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and current HCPC registration is essential.

Some prior experience of teaching and post‑registration learning in Higher Education is required. A master’s degree or higher qualification is desirable, as is experience of working with clinical trainers and an emerging or developing research profile.

The University of Chester continues to strengthen its position within national higher education rankings. The Division comprises high‑profile, leading‑edge practitioners and academics with ambitions to expand provision and research in the field. There are considerable opportunities for career progression for the successful candidate.

For informal enquiries, contact the Head of Division, Dr Mike Morris (m.morris@chester.ac.uk), or the Postgraduate Course Lead for Nutrition and Dietetics, Abigail Price (RD) (abigail.price@chester.ac.uk).

We encourage applications from a diverse range of applicants and can offer reasonable adjustments for the application and interview process.
