          <title><![CDATA[Visiting Lecturer in Law - Centre for Foundation Studies (VLCFFS26A)]]></title>

            <p data-pasted="true"><span style="font-size: 14px;">The University of Chester&rsquo;s Centre for Foundation Studies is seeking to appoint a Visiting Lecturer to teach Law for the foundation year of our four-year degrees&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;">The Centre for Foundation Studies teaches over 500 students undertaking the first (foundation) year of their four-year integrated bachelor&rsquo;s degree prior to progressing into faculties. Our teaching focus is on transition to higher education and there is an expectation that all teaching staff are able to support student engagement and retention and progression strategies.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;">Applicants will typically be qualified to master&rsquo;s level, with an undergraduate degree in Law. Experience of teaching and assessment is required. Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to use their interest in the subject area to enthuse students in groups of typically around 30-35. The current hourly rate of pay for Visiting Lecturer work is &pound;52.56 per hour.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;">The module <em>Introduction to Law and Criminal Justice</em> requires the Visiting Lecturer to deliver content introducing students to fundamental concepts of law, particularly of the English legal system. Your lectures will complement the other elements of the module, namely introduction to criminology and academic skills.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14px;">We are anticipating up to 9 hours of lectures per week, for ten weeks over Term 1 (commencing week beginning 5<sup>th</sup> October), split across two sets of students.
