The post is located in the Division of Social and Political Sciences in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.&nbsp;</p><p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal; text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;">The successful candidate will hold strong expertise in globalisation theories and international relations, including the ability to apply diverse frameworks, such as world systems, dependency, realism, feminism, to historical and contemporary global issues. The role also requires in-depth knowledge of global economic, political, and social history, particularly non-Western perspectives, and the ability to critically engage with themes such as inequality, power, colonialism, and development across different regions. Additionally, the post holder must be skilled in guiding critical analysis of political ideas and case studies, helping students evaluate competing perspectives, question dominant narratives, and connect theory to real-world global challenges. Supervision of dissertations on the themes of the course is included within the post. Furthermore, the postholder must have awareness of key pastoral and academic student issues and a willingness to undertake the role of Personal Academic Tutor.
