The Faculty of Education and Children’s Services is seeking applications from well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed people to join our successful team.
The Faculty is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in History Education (ITE), who will lead the training of new History teachers as part of the Secondary PGCE programme. The successful candidate will be an outstanding practitioner with a proven track record of successful teaching in secondary school. The appointed candidate will have experience of working in ITE and will be responsible for the development of teaching, learning, and research within the History specialism. The appointed candidate will also be responsible for academic quality in compliance with Ofsted, the QAA and University regulations. In collaboration with the Executive Dean, Associate Deans, Heads of Department and Programme Leads in the Faculty of Education and Children’s Services, the post holder will be involved in the effective management and development of the PGCE programme.
The person appointed will be a successful leader with experience of teaching, managing and organising provision within an HE setting, with experience of teacher education. They will also have experience of the successful application of Quality Assurance and Quality Enhancement procedures.
