Description
The University of Chester is a public university, it originates as the first purpose-built teacher training college in the UK. The Role:
We are currently seeking to appoint an Administrative Assistant (Student Visa Route) to support the Legal and Compliance Services Directorate in undertaking an increasing oversight of the University’s legal and compliance functions.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Educated to at least A-Level standard or equivalent
- Experience of office administrative processes
- Computer literate
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Can prioritise and solve standard problems
- Able to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting the University’s compliance with Home Office requirements for Student Route visa holders and the University’s Student Sponsor Status
- Monitoring and advising on migrant student engagement
- Organising and assisting in meetings with students
- Reporting migrant student activity to UKVI using Home Office systems
- Issuing of Biometric Residence Permits and associated matters
- Assisting in preparation for Home Office audits
- Providing frontline advice and assistance to users of the University’s InfoPoint
- Communicating with students, staff and external bodies including UKVI and Home Office
