Description
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences seeks to appoint a Placement Officer to support the Study Abroad offer within the Centre for Student Exchange and Language Development.
You will be supporting students going, or coming from abroad and therefore you will need to convey complex information to students from many backgrounds and cultures. Much of this information is highly detailed and specialist; accordingly, the ability to process and convey this information precisely, along with the ability to record information accurately, is essential to the role.
As part of the Faculty’s Placements team, you may also be required to provide administrative support to other placements being undertaken across the Faculty on occasion (for example, teaching placements within the School of Education).
You will be educated to A Level standard (or equivalent) and have experience of working with international students, preferably in a Higher Education environment, providing advice and guidance. You will be well organised, self-motivated, be able to pay attention to detail, have a high level of written and oral communication skills, and work effectively with others as a competent team member. Strong Excel, numeracy and analytical skills will be advantageous.
