END POINT ASSESSMENT INDEPENDENT ASSESSOR
FOR
ADVANCED CLINICAL PRACTITIONER APPRENTICESHIP (ACP)
The University of Chester’s Academic Services Department is seeking to appoint a pool of End Point Assessment Independent Assessors to conduct the End Point Assessment of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner Apprenticeship.
Academic Services acts as the End Point Assessment Organisation on behalf of the University of Chester managing the End Point Assessments (EPAs) of those apprentices completing integrated degree programmes.
The role of the Independent Assessor during the EPA is to impartially assess whether the ACP Apprentice has developed the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard and assess whether an apprentice has achieved occupational competency. Responsibilities include:
• assessing and grading the completed examination paper
• chairing the presentation panel
• determining the presentation grade
• determining the final apprenticeship grade
• determining if the Apprentice has passed their End Point Assessment
Applicants should:
• be occupationally knowledgeable in relation to the role of the ACP, including current professional registration and participation in ongoing continuing professional development for Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Minimum occupational knowledge includes;
i a Masters degree,
ii current professional healthcare registration
iii a minimum of three years experience working in the field of Advanced Clinical Practice in a clinical and/or educational setting
iv a minimum of three years experience in making assessment judgements at Masters level.
Pay is based on the number of apprentices allocated and a fixed per annum fee and a fixed per cohort fee. Allocations will be between approximately 5 and 10 apprentices based on the number eligible for end-point assessment. The per apprentice fee is £246.17, the per annum fee is £215.40, the per cohort fee is £76.93 (all before deductions). Those deemed appointable will be held in a pool of Independent Assessors and will be assigned on both a rota and availability basis, at which point a contract will be issued. A DBS check will be conducted on successful candidates.
The next scheduled end point assessment window is November 2024.
