Description
The Directorate of Access, Skills and Apprenticeships (DASA) are looking for an Apprenticeship Learner Mentor to join their team. This is an exciting time to join a fast moving, employer facing education department of the University. The apprenticeship team is going through a change in structure and this post will be joining as part of the Learner Mentor team, working with faculty and employers to ensure the correct support is in place for the apprentices.
The Apprenticeship team comprises of several Learner Mentors and is responsible for ensuring that every apprentice has the personalised and induvial support and encouragement for them to reach their potential. Each Learner Mentor is allocated a caseload, where they support cohorts of apprentices, usually from no more than 3 apprenticeship programmes. The Learner Mentor will support the apprentices from induction through to the End Point Assessments (EPA).
The role requires a commitment to excellent customer service, excellent communication skills, the ability to manage your own calendar, meet compliance and audit requirements, proactivity, and a desire to develop and follow efficient and effective processes.
Excellent levels of IT competency are required especially in the use of SharePoint.
Working within the Directorate of Access Skills and Apprenticeships (DASA), the Apprenticeship team work closely with other teams within the Directorate in addition to internal and external stakeholders to support the student lifecycle. The other teams in DASA are Outreach, Access and Participation, Academic Skills (ASk) and Careers and Employability. As such, excellent team-working skills are essential.
